Armenian Ceramic Plate of Matthew Gospel in Greek

Unique, intricate and decorative, this plate boasts an antique appeal with its Greek inscription from the Gospel Matthew about G-d. This plate is a must-have for those who love sentimental things.

This plate will keep one busy and entranced with its beautifully inscribed Greek prayer from Gospel Matthew about "Our Father in Heaven" from 6:9-13. The prayer means: "Hallowed be your name,/ Your kingdom come,/ your will be done,/ on earth as it is in heaven./ Give us today your bread./ And forgive us our debts,/ as we also have forgiven our debtors./ And lead us not into temptation,/ but deliver us from the evil one./ For yours is the kingdom,/ and the power and the glory for ever. Amen." The border is designed with blue flowers; it represents harmony and growth and this is captured with the color which represents something special. Blue is known to represent tranquility, spirituality and living beneath the sky. The fish represent fertility.

This wonderful plate can be used as a decorative ornament or as part of a set with other ceramics to serve guests on special occasions.

Bring a touch of art, history, culture and Jerusalem & the Holy Land to someone's home with this lovely plate.

Note:Armenian ceramics are delicate and should be treated with care. Each piece is individually hand made with ancient skill of mixing and shaping clay and water and then placing the object in an oven or kiln at a temperature of 1000°C until it hardens. The piece is then beautifully hand painted with metallic and oxidized paint, maintaining a natural color and then placed again in the oven at the same temperature. The finishing touch is one of fine glazing.
